This is just something I started a few months back and never bothered to finish. Until now. The idea I got from [link] and the style I got from [link].
The basic idea was that Simon Bolivar went a slightly different path after his victory in Nueva Granada. He favored a more federalist government and allowed Peru and Bolivia to unite. Regionalism never took quite the hold it did in OTL and South American nations benefited more from the Industrial Revolution and didnt become dependent on exporting raw material to more developed nations.
